The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DSTA), in collaboration with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), held a meeting to discuss strategies for transforming Pattaya into a creative city in the film industry.

The Designated Area Office 3 (DOA 3), in collaboration with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), held an online meeting to discuss strategies for transforming Pattaya into a Creative City of Film. Executives from the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Fund also participated in the meeting.

          At the meeting, the Designated Areas for Sustainable Development (DAST) Region 3 presented its efforts to transform Pattaya into a UNESCO Creative City for Film (UCCN) and outlined plans for incorporating these plans into the 5-year Pattaya City Development Plan (2023-2027) and the Strategic Plan for the Management and Development of the Pattaya Special Economic Zone and Connected Areas (2023-2027). The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) also participated, exchanging ideas on developing Pattaya into a film industry hub and presenting its UCCN initiatives. Furthermore, TCEB showcased Qingdao, a model Creative City developed as a film hub.“

          The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Development Authority Region 3 (DASTDA Region 3) will take the guidelines from this meeting and coordinate with relevant agencies, including Pattaya City, the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Policy Office, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), and the Federation of Film Associations of Thailand, along with relevant educational institutions, to integrate plans in order to develop Pattaya into a world-class film industry hub.
