The Special Area Office 3 organized a knowledge exchange activity on creative city development approaches in Chiang Mai Province.
From December 7-9, 2022, the Office of Special Area Development 3 organized an exchange program on creative city development approaches in Chiang Mai. The delegation, consisting of executives and officials from Pattaya City, representatives from government agencies, the private sector, and civil society networks, visited the Chiang Mai Design Week 2022. Chiang Mai was declared a member of the Creative Cities Network in the Crafts and Folk Art category in 2017.
The activity was made possible thanks to the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), Chiang Mai, which included a guided tour of the exhibition and a discussion on festival organization strategies and collaboration with local agencies. Participants also reflected on the lessons learned from the study visit to further develop Pattaya and prepare it for UNESCO's Creative Cities Network accreditation.
