The Pattaya Tourism Authority, in collaboration with Pattaya City, held the first meeting of the committee to drive Pattaya towards becoming a Creative City in Film (1/2026).

On January 30, 2026, the Pattaya Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (PATSA) in collaboration with Pattaya City held the first meeting of the committee tasked with promoting Pattaya's bid to become a UNESCO Creative City for Film. Mr. Parames Ngampicheth, Mayor of Pattaya City, chaired the meeting. Ms. Kritika Chatchawal, Manager of PATSA Pattaya, along with representatives from the Chonburi Provincial Culture Office, the Chonburi Provincial Tourism and Sports Office, the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Office (EEC) - Community and Area Development Division, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the Thai Entertainment Professionals Network, the Chonburi Tourism Industry Council, the Chonburi Tourism Federation, and other relevant partner organizations, attended the meeting at the Brighton Grand Pattaya, Chonburi Province.

The purpose of this meeting was to report on and follow up on the progress of Pattaya's transformation into a Creative City of Film by 2026, to integrate cooperation from various agencies, to discuss guidelines for organizing the Pattaya Film Festival 2026, and to present the draft application for the Creative Cities Network under the UNESCO Creative Cities Network framework for film.
