The Designated Area Office 3 (DPT 3), in collaboration with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and the Thai Entertainment Professional Network Association (TECNA), held an online meeting to discuss Pattaya's transformation into a Creative City of Film. The meeting was led by Mr. Rattanachai Sutthidechanai, representative for the Central and Eastern Regions of TCEB; Mr. Kris Phumisuvarn, Deputy Manager of DPT 3; and Mr. Saranroj Suthatchuto, Director of the Central and Eastern Regions of TCEB.
At the meeting, the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Development Authority Region 3 (DASTDA Region 3) presented its efforts to transform Pattaya into a UNESCO Creative City for Film (UCCN) and outlined plans for incorporating creative film initiatives into the 5-year Pattaya City Development Plan (2023-2027) and the Strategic Plan for the Management and Development of the Pattaya Special Economic Zone and Connected Areas (2023-2027). On this occasion, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and the Thai Entertainment Professional Network Association (TECNA) exchanged ideas on developing Pattaya into a film industry hub and presented Busan, South Korea, as a model Creative City for Film.“
The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Development (DAST) Region 3 will take the guidelines from this meeting and coordinate with relevant agencies, including Pattaya City, the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Policy Office, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), the National Federation of Film Associations, and the Thai Entertainment Professional Network Association (TECNA), along with relevant educational institutions, to integrate plans and jointly drive and promote Pattaya as a world-class film city.
