Pattaya Documentary Pitch 2023

Pattaya Documentary Pitch 2023

Held for the first time as part of the Pattaya Film Festival from June 15-19, 2023, the competition aims to support Thai documentary filmmakers by accepting applications from interested individuals to submit documentary films of 60 minutes or longer.

Selected participants will undergo a intensive five-day workshop crammed with knowledge of filmmaking, particularly the documentary filmmaking process. This includes everything from scriptwriting and production to pre- and post-production, funding strategies, and marketing. The workshop will be led by experienced documentary filmmakers and international experts, including Alice Agneskirchner, director and producer from Germany; Stefano Centini, an Italian producer based in Taiwan; Jewel Maranan, director and producer from the Philippines; and Krit Akkraraj, Acting Director of Creative Content at Thai PBS. During the training, participants will apply the acquired knowledge to develop their submitted projects. On the final day of the training, participants will present their feature-length documentary projects (documentary pitches). Two winning projects will receive cash prizes to support future documentary film production.
