On September 6, 2022, Mr. Parames Ngampicheth, Mayor of Pattaya, chaired a meeting to discuss attracting seminars to elevate Pattaya's status as a Creative City of Film. Ms. Thitiphan Phetrakul, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, also attended the meeting at Room 132, Pattaya City Hall. Mr. Adisak Limprungpatanakit, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Nation Group and Chairman of the 15th World Film Festival of Bangkok, was also present.
Details were provided, and Pattaya City was invited to co-host the Pattaya City of Film event to promote tourism.
Mr. Adisak Limprungpatanakit, Executive Vice President of Nation Group and Chairman of the 15th World Film Festival of Bangkok, explained that the World Film Festival of Bangkok 2022 will be held from December 2nd to 11th, 2022, at SF Cinema CentralWorld in Bangkok. This international film festival will invite filmmakers from both Thailand and abroad, aiming to stimulate the Thai film industry and provide a platform for independent filmmakers from around the world to showcase their work.
It was recognized that Pattaya is a suitable location for hosting a film festival that can greatly promote tourism. The concept of the event is to provide a seminar platform for aspiring film directors and editors, inviting renowned Thai and international film directors to exchange experiences, and to provide a platform for independent filmmakers from around the world to screen their work.
Pattaya Mayor Parames Ngampicheth revealed that Pattaya aims to be a "City of Film" and is pleased to move forward in driving Pattaya towards becoming a creative city for film. He stated that relevant agencies will be invited to plan the format and approach of the "Movie on the Beach" event to stimulate the economy and promote tourism.
