The Special Area Development Office 3, the Thai Film Archive, Burapha University, and Pattaya City collaborated to organize the 1st Pattaya Film Camp (Pattaya Film Camp #1) from July 13-15, 2022.
The event was organized with the objective of encouraging youth and educational institutions to participate in filmmaking. It also provided an opportunity for interested young people to learn short film production and editing techniques. Ms. Chalida Uabamrungjit, Director of the Thai Film Archive, along with her staff, served as instructors, facilitating the process and sharing their knowledge. Dr. Siwat Boonkerd, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Pattaya City, also observed and presented strategies for promoting Pattaya as a film city. Furthermore, a forum was held to exchange experiences with renowned directors, including Puttipong Nakthong (director of "4 Kings"), Chantana Tippaprachati (director of "Naa Haan"), and Chukiart Sakveerakul (director of "Love of Siam"), among others. The event garnered significant interest from local youth, with 11 teams registering to participate. This demonstrates the importance of raising awareness and promoting youth development in the area, aligning with UNESCO's Creative Cities for Film Development initiative.
