Pattaya City held a press conference to announce the “Pattaya Film Festival 2024”.”

(August 6, 2024) Mr. Parames Ngampicheth, Mayor of Pattaya, held a press conference announcing the Pattaya Film Festival 2024, aiming to propel Pattaya towards becoming a UNESCO Creative City for Film and a hub for the film industry. Also present were Ms. Chalida Uabamrungjit, Director of the Thai Film Archive (Public Organization), and Mr. Kris Phumisuvarn, Manager of the Designated Area for Sustainable Tourism Development of Pattaya and surrounding areas (DAST Pattaya). The Pattaya Film Festival is one of the activities promoting tourism through film, while also driving Pattaya to become a hub for the film industry, as per the Pattaya City Development Plan (2023-2027). Pattaya City has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 12 other organizations to integrate cooperation and promote, support, and drive Pattaya's mission towards becoming a UNESCO Creative Cities in Film Network.

The Pattaya Film Festival 2024 will be held from August 21st to 25th, 2024, with the official opening ceremony on August 21st at the G Floor activity area of Central Marina Pattaya. The festival features numerous activities throughout Pattaya and surrounding areas, including screenings of quality films from around the world in cinemas, outdoor film screenings, film awards ceremonies, film seminars, Masterclass seminars, a Documentary Pitch competition aimed at supporting Thai documentary filmmakers, and a Film Trip taking festival guests to visit film shooting locations.
